What you have bought is the time to be able use the accommodation and all the other benefits that the membership offers. Obviously the value of the purchase will decrease with each year usage.
One factor that will determine the sales price will be the number of remaining years of your contract.
How to look at the value
Let’s take an example of an ownership in a quality vacation ownership club. The original price was already based on the type of accommodation. This means we are purely focusing on the remaining time of the vacation ownership.
So you have bought an ownership for 35 years and have paid 22,000 EUR
We want to calculate the worth for every year of the ownership.
Stage 1 - 22,000 EUR divided by 35 years
Stage 2 - Each year is worth 628 EUR
Stage 3 - Years remaining x 628 EUR
Stage 4 - You have a reasonable end price
