There are many re-sale time share companies in the internet that appear to be American based and this is no surprise considering America has a long established time share industry. They seem to offer a quick, glossy, guaranteed sales approach that there are buyers just waiting for the vacation ownerships to come on to the market and that there will be an instant sale. The question for us was, is this world of re-sales so clear cut and easy? The only way to find out was to call the companies sales lines which resulted into a long journey in an area that produced many different results. What we expected to hear was based on our knowledge of the real estate market in general. A commission based sale with the buyer paying the commission.

What became clear is that is no standard way of selling. Most re-sale companies have different approaches ranging from very high advertising fees that must be paid up front by the seller. An extreme case is where the seller actually pays the re-sales company to take the time share so you don’t have to pay maintenance fees any more.

Beware there are many ways the re-sale companies can convince you that they will sell your property as quick as possible and the sales reps are trained that the seller must sell and they latch onto this and put extra pressure on. They also earn from the advertising commission!

There is a mixture of hard sells but the first thing you should do is go into the internet and type in critics of the time share selling company and you will find information.
